Where to access Active Surveillance

All Urology services, public and private can offer active surveillance. If your Urologist is unwilling to perform surveillance, you are entitled to a second opinion.

It should be noted that Active Surveillance benefits from high quality mpMR scans of the prostate at minimum to the PROMIS standard. The higher the image quality, the better.  Not all Radiology departments have Radiologists experienced in reading MpMRI of the prostate.

Further, the hospital or surgeon should have performed a transperineal biopsy before Active surveillance is offered.
